AFRICAN AMERICAN GOLFER’S
DIGEST
ANNOUNCES 2009 “FRIENDS & FAMILY GOLF CRUISE”
SAILING TO NASSAU, BAHAMAS
New York, NY, June 10, 2008—Plans have been confirmed
for the inaugural “Friends & Family Golf Cruise”
that will follow the closing of the January 30th, 2009 PGA
Merchandise Show and participants are invited to join the
African American Golfer’s Digest, February 2-6, 2009,
for a 5/day, 4/night voyage to Nassau, Bahamas. While there
a tournament will be held at the lovely Cable Beach Golf
Club.

“This program plans to be a great time for networking,”
said publisher, Debert Cook. “We anticipate having
fun onboard Royal Caribbean’s Monarch of the Seas
and a grand time in Nassau, playing a round of golf at Cable
Beach Golf Club.” The cruise ship departs at Cape
Canaveral.

Throughout the last four years of presenting their Diversity
Pavilion at the PGA Show, the African American Golfer’s
Digest has developed a swath of loyal followers who look
forward to stopping by each year, catchin-up with friends
and getting the latest information on programs and events.
The booth also attracts tremendous foot traffic, media coverage
and special guests. “There is an estimated are 2.2
million African American golfers in the U.S. and our "Diversity
Pavilion" has assisted dozens of minority firms in
competing in the golf marketplace,” said Cook.

According to Cook, “On the cruise, we will have a
wide array of activities for the entire family, including
putt-putt golf, rock climbing, duty-free shopping, nightly
live entertainment, water aerobics, spa, and a great assortment
of meal choices, dance clubs, art, classes, and more.”
Onboard, and in Nassau, Robin Aikens (LPGA) will offer a
golf clinic and participate in the outing.
The African American Golfer's Digest is registered with
the National Minority Supplier Development Council with
memberships that include the United States Golf Association
(USGA), National Golf Foundation, International Network
of Golf (ING), and Metropolitan Golf Writers Association.
