African American Golfer's Digest
Participation
Increases Overall Minority-Owned Firm Activity at
the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show
January 3, 2005 (New York, NY)--Visitors to the 2005 PGA
Merchandise Show at the Orange County Convention Center
to be held January 27-20 will see several new faces when
traveling down Aisle 9500. At booth #9545 will be the African
American Golfer's Digest (AAGD), an they're not alone.
In fact, "The magazine has used its massive appeal
to attract seven-that's right-seven, additional minority-owned
business to participate in the annually held trade-only
show."The solution has always been affordability," says
publisher, Debert Cook." Although not a large number, it
is significant to what the past has held for black-owned
companies who displayed at the show.
"African American entrepreneurs in the golf industry
who head their own companies need a flexible alternative
to participating in these types of mega-trade shows, where
their products, services and ideas can reach a strong trade-based
golf audience, " said Cook.
The African American Golfer's Digest was able to help seven
other minority-owned golf businesses participate in this
years event by creating and extending an affordable marketing
opportunity to its readership and advertising base. Several
minority-owned businesses took quick advantage of the opportunity
to have their presence known at the show by participating
in co-shared space in the booth.
Firms joining the "Diversity Pavilion" effort
include product and service oriented golf businesses along
with recent authors, speakers, trainers and motivators."
In addition, participants also get copies of all of the
business cards that are collected during the three-day event,"
says Cook." "This data is extremely important for those
who seek to generate new sales leads and target potential
new business and I'm proud that my publication can empower
and avail this type of networking activity to black golf
business owners and help the PGA of American and Reed Exhibition
grow involvement by minority firms in this annual trade
Show at the same time."
