2018 Jaguar XF

by Debert Cook

This midsize luxury sedan rises above the compact XE and the full-size XJ. Rear-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional. Three engines are available including a 2.0-liter gas turbo-four with 247 hp/269 lb-ft of torque, a 2.0-liter turbodiesel I-4 with 180 hp/318 lb-ft or a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 rated at 340 hp or 380 hp and 332 lb-ft. An eight-speed automatic is the sole transmission offered across the entire XF lineup.

The XF’s spacious trunk can be expanded via the available 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats in the Premium and higher trims. EPA fuel economy ratings are about the same to the 2017 model: 31/42 mpg city/highway for the rear-drive diesel models and 30/40 mpg with all-wheel drive.

Standard and optional features include Jaguar’s InControl infotaiment system with 8″ touchscreen or a larger 10.2″ unit in the InControl Pro variant, a head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, alloy wheels up to 20 inches in diameter, a Meridian premium audio system, full LED headlights, the Adaptive Dynamics drive mode selector system, leather upholstery, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and soft-close doors.

Active safety and driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control with queue assist, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind-spot warning, and lane keeping assist with driver condition monitoring.
