(January 19, 2019) – Round two at the Diamond Resort Tournament of Champions (former Diamond Resorts Invitational) resumed and continued for the most part, where it left off at on Friday. The LPGA leader, 20-year-old Canadian golfer Brooke Henderson and Celebrity leader Mardy Fish maintained their stranglehold on their respective fields.  Neither golfer is no stranger to being at, or near the top of the leaderboard.

The weather, so far, at the championship course, located directly adjacent to Disney’s Magic Kingdom has been mild and sunny, but tomorrow’s forecast doesn’t look too promising, with temps expected to reach a high of 60-degrees, with winds and rain.  That being the case, could really allow a lot of outsiders back into this tournament.

The mudders might spring right to the top of the leaderboard and surprise some of the heavy favorites.  In other words, it could be anybody’s tournament. On a personal note:  I’m keeping my fingers crossed for lots of sunshine and warm temperatures.  Mother Nature has tricked us before, so should wind and rain prevail, it won’t be the first time.

Late Saturday afternoon finds Brooke Henderson, Lydia Ko, & Eun-Hee Ji tied atop the leaderboard at -13 under for the LPGA purse.  Also, John Smoltz, Mardy Fish, and Mark Mulder are front-runners for the celebrities.

So, stay tuned….
