UBGA 2020 Community Service Scholarship Award Application
(April 13, 2020) — Applications are still being accepted for the United Black Golfers Association, Inc. (UBGA) Community Service Annual Scholarship. UBGA will offer eight $800 scholarships to New York City high school seniors graduating in June 2020. Seniors must live and attend school in New York City. Applicants must have achieved at least a 75% or a C grade point average and have been accepted and registered for college or trade school in the fall of 2020. Applicants must also provide proof that they were accepted to college or trade school.
Applicants must have also performed community service in their high school or their community.
Applicants must submit their completed application to UBGA on or before Monday, May 4th, 2020.
Each response should have no less than 150 words and no more than 250 words. Please note that: content, punctuation, spelling and grammar will be considered in the evaluation of each application. It is recommended that each applicant type their essay answers first and carefully review them before submitting your application.
Official transcript of grades must be submitted separately. Transcript must be emailed by midnight on Monday, May 4th, 2020 to UBGAscholarship@gmail.com. When emailing, enter Scholarship in the subject line. Scholarship recipients will be notified by Friday, June 12th, 2020.
Applicants with the highest scores will be interviewed as part of the final selection process. These interviews will occur in early June. Further details will follow regarding the location, time and date for the interview.

The United Black Golfers Association, Inc. is a Laurelton, Queens-based Association, that was formed on March 3, 2014, as a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Our name, logo and acronym are registered with the United States of America Patent and Trademark Office. The purpose of the association is to provide opportunities for golfers and individuals (men and women) who are interested in the game of golf, to meet and engage in activities that promote unity, and for personal growth and enrichment through the sport of golf. From 2016-2018 UBGA has distributed 22 scholarships to High School Seniors, with a total disbursement of $13,000.00 to date.
