On Tuesday, October 15, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, First Tee-Greater Washington, DC (First Tee-GWDC) celebrated its 25th anniversary at East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, DC. The event brought together 200 guests to honor Stars Award winners, including Volunteer Coach of the Year, Coach of the Year, and two outstanding participants. Arianna, a 6th grade First Tee-GWDC participant, kicked off the festivities with a touching poem titled Quarter Century on the Green. The 2024 Stars Award winners included Vasilios Rajendra as Volunteer of the Year, Martin Zadravec as Coach of the Year, and Christina Fuentes and Whitley Shields as Outstanding Participants. Congratulations went out to these winners who embodied the mission and values of First Tee both on and off the course.
First Tee-GWDC, one of 150 chapters across the U.S., is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of young people through educational programs that build character and teach life-enhancing values through golf.
