Next Week’s event to be played on the same golf course as the PGA TOUR’s John Deere Classic; The first 54-hole competition on APGA Tour’s 2025 schedule begins with Monday practice rounds, followed by tournament play Tuesday-Thursday
The Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) Tour is set to host its eighth event of the 2025 season, the APGA at TPC Deere Run, from July 14 to 17 in Silvis, Illinois. This tournament will be played on the same course that recently hosted the PGA TOUR’s John Deere Classic, offering APGA players the opportunity to compete at a premier venue.
Marking the first 54-hole event on the 2025 APGA Tour schedule, the week begins on Monday, July 14, with practice rounds. Tournament play will take place from Tuesday through Thursday, July 15–17. This event is also the seventh tournament in the APGA’s Cisco Cup Series, a season-long points competition supported by Cisco.
Fifty-four APGA Tour players will compete for a $25,000 purse. The winner will take home $7,500 and earn 700 Cisco Cup Series points, contributing toward the season-long standings. The tournament continues to showcase the talent and determination of players striving to reach the highest levels of professional golf.

A field of 54 players, including many of the top players on the APGA Tour, will compete in the APGA at TPC Deere Run. Notable players include:
- Brian Ohr – Wheeling, Illinois resident who is sixth in the 2025 APGA’s Cisco Cup Series standings and eighth in the Jeff Dailey points standings. Runner-up earlier this year at the APGA at Port St. Lucie tournament. Placed T17 in the 2024 APGA at TPC Deere Run.
- Alec Martinez – Chicago resident, Orland Park, Illinois native, and 2015 Carl Sandburg High School graduate; Played collegiately at St. Xavier University in Chicago from 2017-2019 and is in his fourth year on the APGA Tour. Placed T41 in the 2024 APGA at TPC Deere Run.
- Marcus Smith Jr. – Rockford, Illinois native and 2020 Winnebago High School graduate who spent his first two years at Eastern Michigan before completing his final three years of collegiate golf at Howard University this year. 2018 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) individual state champion.
- Kamaiu Johnson – Winner of the last two events on the 2025 APGA Tour schedule – the APGA Juneteenth Classic in Los Angeles and the APGA at TPC Scottsdale (Arizona). Oviedo, Florida resident has made five PGA TOUR starts. Current leader in the 2025 APGA’s Cisco Cup Series standings and second in the Jeff Dailey points standings.
- Chase Johnson – Two-time reigning APGA Player of the Year and the only APGA golfer to play in the 2025 U.S. Open, beating out PGA TOUR winners Rickie Fowler and Max Homa via a playoff in U.S. Open Final (Sectional) Qualifying to earn his U.S. Open berth. 2025 Cisco APGA Black History Month Classic (at TPC Sawgrass) champion and three-time APGA Tour winner in 2024. Current leader in the 2025 APGA’s Jeff Dailey points standings and second in the Cisco Cup Series standings.
- Ryan Ellerbrock – APGA at TPC Deere Run defending champion, having won by three strokes with a winning 36-hole score of 7-under-par 135 last year. The San Diego resident tied for fifth place in the APGA Juneteenth Classic, the tour’s most recent event played in Los Angeles last month.
- Marcus Byrd – Seven-time APGA Tour winner – most recently crowned champion of the 2025 APGA at Port St. Lucie event – and has made seven PGA TOUR starts. Temple Hills, Maryland resident tied for third in the 2024 APGA at TPC Deere Run tournament and is currently third in the 2025 APGA’s Jeff Dailey points and Cisco Cup Series standings. Finished runner-up (via a playoff) in the APGA Juneteenth Classic, the tour’s most recent event played in Los Angeles last month.
- Luis Gagne – LSU golf product was the 2024 APGA at TPC Deere Run runner-up, and he also finished runner-up at the 2025 APGA’s season-opening Farmers Insurance Invitational and the APGA at Magnolia Grove. Orlando, Florida resident played in the 2018, 2019 and 2021 U.S. Opens and is currently sixth in the APGA’s Jeff Dailey points standings and seventh in the Cisco Cup Series standings.
- Troy Taylor II – Westerville, Ohio native was overall champion of the 2024 APGA Farmers Insurance Fall Series in November; Six top-10 finishes in nine APGA Tour starts last year, including his first professional win in the APGA at Seaview event. Tied for third place in the 2024 APGA at TPC Deere Run event. Ninth in the APGA’s Jeff Dailey points and Cisco Cup Series standings. Tied for third place in the APGA Juneteenth Classic, the tour’s most recent event played in Los Angeles last month.
- Willie Mack III – 15-time APGA Tourwinner with 10 PGA TOUR starts, including the 2024 U.S. Open. Flint, Michigan native and Orlando, Florida resident placed in a tie for third fifth in the 2024 APGA at TPC Deere Run tournament. Tenth in the 2025 APGA’s Cisco Cup Series standings and 12th in the Jeff Dailey standings.
- Jaime Lopez Rivarola – Buenos Aires, Argentina native and University of Georgia product is a two-time APGA Tour winner who most recently captured the APGA at TPC San Antonio in March. He is fourth in the 2025 APGA’s season-long Jeff Dailey points and Cisco Cup Series standings. He tied for eighth in the 2024 APGA at TPC Deere Run event.
- Joe Hooks – Detroit native and Scottsdale, Arizona resident with four mini-tour victories and six runner-up results on the APGA Tour. Made his PGA TOUR debut in June at the Rocket Classic in Detroit on a sponsor exemption after winning the event’s John Shippen Invitational.
- Aaron Beverly – Two-time APGA Tour winner. The Sacramento resident made his only PGA TOUR start at the Tiger Woods-hosted Genesis Invitational in 2022 as a recipient of the tournament’s Charlie Sifford Memorial Exemption. Currently 11th in the 2025 APGA’s Jeff Dailey points standings and 17th in the Cisco Cup Series standings.
- Michael Bradham – Seven-time APGA Tour winner with seven career PGA TOUR starts. In 2025, he tied for third at his hometown event in March, the APGA at TPC San Antonio, and won the APGA at Magnolia Grove on April 1. Currently fifth in the APGA’s Jeff Dailey points and Cisco Cup Series standings.
- Kevin Hall – Cincinnati native was the first African American to play college golf at Ohio State, serving as a co-captain during his junior (2002-03) and senior (2003-04) years. He made his PGA TOUR debut as the Charlie Sifford Memorial Exemption recipient at the 2017 Genesis Open. He tied for eighth in the 2024 APGA at TPC Deere Run event.
- Andrew Walker –A native of Battle Creek, Michigan who won the 2024 APGA Ascension Classic championship. He made his only PGA TOUR start at the World Wide Technology Championship in November. The 2021 Michigan State graduate was the2015 and 2016 Division 1 Michigan state high school champion. At age 14, he became the youngest African-American to qualify for the U.S. Amateur Championship.
- Everett Whiten Jr. – Chesapeake, Virginua native and Alabama resident played collegiately at Howard University and holds two top-six finishes on the 2025 APGA Tour.
- Gregory Odom Jr. – Memphis, Tennessee native and 2024 Howard University graduate was the 2024 Mastercard APGA Tour Championship winner.
- Wyatt Worthington II – Reynoldsburg, Ohio resident has made five PGA TOUR starts, including two appearances in the PGA Championship; Three-time APGA winner.

CISCO CUP STANDINGS AND JEFF DAILEY POINTS:
Cisco Cup Standings: This ranking system tracks player performance throughout the APGA season. Players earn points based on their finishes in designated APGA Tour events. The player accumulating the most points by season’s end is awarded the Cisco Cup, which often includes additional benefits such as sponsor exemptions.
Jeff Dailey Points: Named in honor of former Farmers Insurance® CEO Jeff Dailey, this system measures players’ consistency and overall performance across all APGA Tour competitions, including the Cisco Cup season, the APGA Farmers Insurance Fall Series, and two Cisco Invitational events. The player with the highest combined points receives the Jeff Dailey APGA Tour Player of the Year Award, which includes a $25,000 bonus.
