The current condition of the world during the global pandemic has brought on new challenges and shifted the way in which companies and systems operate. The world has transitioned into digital formats and golf is doing the same to provide education on how the game is played. The free Virtual Kids clinic hosted by All Access Golf and Five Iron on Saturday, August 29 served that purpose to bring the game in a digestible format for children virtually.

The program partnership between All Access Golf and Five Iron Golf provided golf education to children as well as tangible steps to start playing the game. Five Iron provided the clinic which covered the elements of a hole, how to read a scoreboard, what is normally in the golf bag, the physics of the game, and there were trivia questions after the clinic demonstration.

All Access Golf provided resources and information that would get children playing the game starting at $45 dollars and providing discounts on children’s clubs. Also available was information for attending parents on how to measure clubs for their children, so that they can connect with an instructor and start learning fundamentals. In order to truly grow the game, we have to ensure that accessible formats are provided and the game is digestible and not daunting.

All Access Golf’s (AAG) mission is to increase the accessibility, relatability, and visibility for minorities in the sport of golf. Operating on a 2 tier model, they expose children in inner-city areas to the game of golf while providing socio-emotional learning as well as the historical contributions that have been made by minorities.

All Access Golf’s incredibly driven team is bringing golf to communities and kids in relatable and genuine ways that inspire them to keep showing up to learn. Seeing kids from Brooklyn to Baltimore engaged in a virtual golf clinic was impressive to say the least! We’re so grateful to have AAG as a long time partner and cannot wait for more events, especially once we can get more kids swinging at Five Iron!” says Veronica Ryan, Head of Marketing & PR.

Five Iron Golf provides a high-tech, inclusive urban golf experience for golfers and non-golfers alike and has multiple locations in NYC, Chicago, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. “Five Iron and All Access Golf were both built on missions to help everyone enjoy the game so working with them has been a seamless and exciting experience. While we wish we could have invited the kids to Five Iron, our teams worked hard to make the best of the situation and create an informative and entertaining event for an awesome group of kids.” Mike Doyle, Co-Founder & Director of Golf says.

“All Access golf has done events with Five Iron before. They hosted their holiday party at the end of 2019. “I first met Kelley and learned about what he was doing with All Access Golf while helping him plan his birthday party event at Five Iron. During the event, I got to see first-hand AAG’s ability to attract new golfers and give them the kind of experience that would keep them coming back to the game. From then on, we were always looking for ways to collaborate.”

“Because of the challenges going on in the world, the Virtual Clinic presented an opportunity to answer a real need to keep bringing kids golf education. Even if it was just a fun distraction for a single afternoon, we’re proud to say the event fostered a love for the game and all it has to offer,” said Sam Valle, Director of Business Development. The holiday party exposed those to the game of golf in an indoor format and helped to take the intimidation away since it can be a social setting.
