At just 15 years old, Alliah Jordan is already making waves in the world of golf. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Alliah attends Ed W. Clark High School, where she balances her academic pursuits with her passion for golf.
Alliah’s journey into the world of golf began at the tender age of 5. Inspired by her older sister, Aubrianna Jordan, who played golf through college, Alliah took up the sport with determination. By the age of 9, she was already attending private lessons, honing her skills under the guidance of her coaches, Jim Hart from 2014 to present and Mike Davis from 2017 to present.
“My golf coaches get the credit for all on my skills I have today,” says the devoted player who has also worked with the renowned Dr. Kwon, Professor of Kinesiology and Director Biomechanics.
Her dedication and hard work have paid off, as evidenced by her impressive handicap of +1.3. Alliah is an active member of various golf organizations, including the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), Future Champions Golf (FCG), Utah Junior Golf Association, and Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association.
Despite her busy schedule, Alliah maintains a commendable GPA of 3.5 at Clark High School. She has received numerous accolades for her achievements both on and off the golf course. In 2022, she was named the Junior Golfer of the Year by the Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in helping Clark High School secure second place in the State Championship during the 2023 Nevada High School Girls Golf season.
Even with the loving support of her parents, Aldric and Stephanie Jordan, balancing it all has not been easy for Alliah. “It’s a struggle, but I have to make time for both. My social life has taken a sacrifice, I can’t go hang out with my friends at night or go hang out at the mall every weekend,” admits the teen who enjoys reading and writing.
When it comes to challenges, Alliah says “My biggest challenge is my mental game. My goal for this upcoming year is focusing on my mental strategy and adapting my game to play how the course is designed.” However, she is determined to overcome this obstacle by focusing on her mental strategy and adapting her game to suit the course.
Beyond her golfing prowess, Alliah is also a role model in her community. She was selected as the Junior Grand Marshal for the 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. parade in Las Vegas and has been recognized for her academic achievements as part of the 2023-2024 Nevada All-State Academic Team. She is a member of the Second Baptist Church in Las Vegas and is a member of the Youth Usher Board and Sunday School. She has a strong belief in God which has gotten her to where she is now.
Alliah remains dedicated to her goals and stays focused, playing often at her home course Rhodes Ranch Golf Club. She hopes to inspire other young girls to take up golf and experience the limitless opportunities the sport offers.
