San Antonio resident Lou Miller continues to prove that excellence and precision extend far beyond his professional and community achievements. Recently, Miller accomplished an extraordinary milestone on the golf course—his eigth career hole-in-one.
The ace was accomplished at the Golf Club of Texas on October 21 on hole #12. The rare feat underscores not only his passion for the sport but also his remarkable consistency and focus, both of which mirror his leadership roles in civic and professional life. The odds of making an ace are 12,000 to one, according to the National Hole-In-One Registry. The registry also says there are 450 million rounds of golf played each year in the United States with 25,000-30,000 rounds per course. Each course reports between 15-20 aces each year, which means a hole-in-one occurs once every 3,500 rounds on average.
Beyond the fairways, Lou Miller’s legacy of service and leadership runs deep. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority, where he helps oversee transportation infrastructure initiatives that impact the San Antonio region. His commitment to service is equally evident through his extensive involvement in Rotary International and the NAACP.
Miller has served as President of the Rotary Club of San Antonio during the 2011-2012 term and later as District Governor for Rotary District 5840 in 2015-2016. His dedication to Rotary continued through numerous leadership positions, including Assistant Rotary Coordinator for Zones 21b, 25b, and parts of 27 and 29, where he worked to strengthen collaboration and engagement across regions. He also chaired the District Audit Review Committee from 2021 to 2023, ensuring transparency and accountability within the organization.

In addition to his Rotary service, Miller has contributed significantly to advancing equality and civic engagement as the Former First Vice President of the NAACP San Antonio Branch. His active participation in both Rotary International and the NAACP reflects a lifelong commitment to building stronger communities and promoting fairness, opportunity, and service above self.
Lou Miller’s eigth hole-in-one is not just a personal victory—it is a reminder that excellence, whether on the golf course or in public service, comes from discipline, integrity, and passion. Those who know him best agree that Miller’s drive to achieve, serve, and inspire is what truly makes him one of San Antonio’s most respected leaders.
If you are lucky enough to make a hold-in-one be sure to register it at the National Hole-In-One Registry.
