APGA TOUR BLACK HISTORY MONTH CLASSIC

The APGA Tour 2021 season continues February 19-21 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, with the APGA Tour Black History Month Classic, honoring five PGA of America professionals for their contributions to the sport. The tournament is the APGA Tour’s first at the PGA of America-owned facility, starting a run of eight consecutive tournaments at TPC or PGA of America venues, some of the most prestigious in the United States.

  • The two-day, 36-hole tournament will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 20 and 21, with $28,500 prize money at stake. The tournament will be conducted under social-distancing and health/safety guidelines in conjunction with regional authorities.

Golf Industry Diversity Difference-Makers to be Honored

Five golf industry difference-makers, all of whom have advanced the cause of diversity in the sport of golf, will be celebrated during the Black History Month Classic. The APGA Tour and the PGA of America will hold a short, socially-distanced outdoor ceremony to recognize the recipients:

  • Tom Woodard, PGA, Thornton, Colorado
  • Wyatt Worthington II, PGA, Reynoldsburg, Ohio
  • Kennie Sims, PGA, Tampa, Florida
  • Clay Myers, PGA, Dallas, Texas
  • Doug Smith, Scottsdale, Arizona

The Tournament format:

  • 2-day, 36-hole tournament goes Friday and Saturday.
  • APGA Tour players with exemptions into upcoming PGA TOUR events listed.
