Arlene Taylor-McBryde, Affectionately known as “ Lena” died peacefully in Mt. Sanai on February 10, 2020 in New York City at the age of 79.
Arlene is survived by her husband Charles McBryde Sr. Sons, Charles (Chris) McBryde Jr, Corey Lamar McBryde and Leslie G. Taylor, Sister Mildred Jean Taylor, Brother Joseph Taylor, Grandchildren Tashara Williams, Michael Mc-Bryde, London Taylor, Maria Lopez, Aunts Mildred Harvey, and Bessie Croom Sister in law Stella Davis(Donnie)Brother in-Laws Moses McBryde, Lee McBryde, Eugene McBryde, Nieces Angela M. Taylor, Phyllis Taylor, Samaria Davis, Nephews Rodney Taylor, Rashawn DavisGrandnephews Trevor Taylor, Jarren Warner, Tashaun Warner. Great-grands Trevon Taylor, Mia Taylor, Cousin Harold Atkins, and a host of other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Arlene was born on June 11, 1940, in Birmingham Alabama, to Joseph and Julia Taylor. She graduated from Ullman High School . She attended Manhattan Community College and earned a degree in Business Management and attended Brooklyn College and earned her nursing degree. Arlene worked at Presbyterian Hospital and American Cancer Society from where she retired. She is best described as a kind, gentle, patient, angelic soul who felt satisfaction in uplifting and helping others. She also loved playing the game of golf and was a member of the East Coast Golf Club.
Arlene was a generous, funny dedicated individual who loved life and who was passionate about making a difference in her community. She was an active and dedicated member of the Committee of Concern and often volunteered her services to wherever she was needed.
