Bay Area Churches Tee Off for Fun, Fellowship, and Philanthropy

The Church Scholarship Golf Tournament was an exciting event held on Saturday, August 31st, 2024, at the stunning Mangrove Bay Golf Course in St. Petersburg, Florida. Ten churches from the Bay Area came together to compete and support a meaningful cause: Bethel AME Church, Hope Alive Outreach Church, Mt. Zion Progressive MB, Greater Mt. Zion AME, Freedom in Christ Worship Center (Bartow, FL), 29th Street Church of Christ (Tampa, FL), St. Thomas MB Church (Madison, FL), True Holiness Worship Ministries, Leroy Rainey Church, and St. Mark MB Church.

Ministers, pastors, deacons, church members, and guests gathered to enjoy a day of fellowship, competition, and giving back, all while playing on one of Florida’s most beautiful courses. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and unity as participants rallied for a worthy cause.

The 29th Street Church of Christ from Tampa emerged victorious, with players Minister Perry Johnson, Willie Parker, Donald Phillips, and Craig Tucker leading the way. Everyone is already buzzing with anticipation for next year’s tournament in 2025. Special thanks to Pop Lancaster for capturing the unforgettable moments of this thrilling event!
