The National Golf Foundation (NGF) is pleased to share the announcement of the grand opening of The Bridge Golf Learning Center this weekend in Harlem, NY. The new indoor facility located at 40 West 117th St. is bringing the best in golf learning and technology to Harlem by combining golf instruction and recreation for all ages and skill levels.
The state-of-the-art facility will feature three TrackMan 4 simulators and a SAM PuttLab. The Learning Center will have three full-time PGA Teaching professionals on-site, and guests can rent time on the simulators to play famous courses like the Old Course at St. Andrews and Bethpage Black.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for local Harlem residents, and those within commuting distance, to experience the game of golf at a fine institution,” said African American Golfer’s Digest Publisher Debert Cook.
The Bridge Golf Learning Center is expected to be much more than a business, providing economic power to the Bridge Golf Foundation that is seeking to use the game of golf to improve life outcomes for young men of color. Golf is just one of the anchors of The Foundation’s after-school curriculum for students from the Eagle Academy for Young Men of Harlem. Each day after school, these students will receive mentoring, STEM education and golf instruction in the new golf learning center.
The NGF worked with the Bridge Golf Foundation in 2015 and 2016 to assist in bringing this project to fruition through business plan assistance and market research. “This is exactly the kind of new golf facility we love to see, expanding golf instruction and education to help grow golf,” said NGF’s Chief Executive Officer Joe Beditz.
In addition to golf education and recreation, the Bridge Golf Learning Center will also host free screenings of documentaries, movies and exhibitions, as well as various educational and cultural events related to golf and its work with young men of color. The Bridge Golf Learning Center and The Bridge Golf Foundation are dedicated to cultivating a lively and engaging community-centered space, where golf is a powerful medium to change the world for good.
Please join the NGF in wishing a warm welcome to the newest golf facility in New York City.
