Samuel Davis is a man on a mission to make golf more inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for all. As the Founder and CEO of Good Sport Golf Club, he has spent the last decade building a nationwide network of golf leagues that prioritize fun, organization, and a welcoming atmosphere. His journey into the golf industry began with a clear vision: to eliminate the frustrations that both golfers and pro shops faced when trying to organize and participate in leagues.
“Golf has always been a sport that brings people together,” Davis explains. “But for too long, access and organization have been barriers that kept many from fully enjoying the game. We wanted to change that.”
Founded in 2013, Good Sport Golf Club was created to bridge the gap between golfers looking for structured, competitive leagues and pro shops that preferred to focus on course management rather than league coordination. Davis recognized that while many golf courses wanted to offer leagues, they often lacked the time and resources to manage them effectively. His solution was simple yet innovative: a nationwide organization that takes on the logistical challenges of running golf leagues, making it easier for both golfers and course operators.
“We believe that a well-run league should be fun, competitive, and stress-free,” Davis says. “Our goal is to provide that experience for every participant, no matter their skill level or background. What sets Good Sport Golf Club apart is its commitment to organizing charity golf tournaments and events nationwide. We have hosted activities for some of the largest nonprofits and corporations in the world, consistently ensuring each event sells out while fostering a warm and generous atmosphere,” says Davis.

Today, Good Sport Golf Club operates more than 300 leagues across the country, attracting amateur golfers of all genders. Each league consists of 16 participants over a 16-week period, ensuring a structured and engaging experience. The club is particularly focused on increasing opportunities for women, people of color, veterans, and individuals with developmental disabilities, making diversity and inclusion central to its mission.
“Kindness is at the core of everything we do,” Davis emphasizes. “Golf should be a game where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and encouraged to grow.”
One of the standout aspects of Good Sport Golf Club is its impressive retention rate—over 87% of members return each year. Davis attributes this to the club’s commitment to enhancing the overall experience for members and ensuring that their participation feels like an investment in both their game and their community.

“People come back because they see the value in what we offer,” Davis says. “It’s not just about playing golf; it’s about being part of something bigger—a community that supports and uplifts each other.”
Membership fees vary based on the individual golf course, as each location has its own greens fees. However, Good Sport Golf Club ensures that pricing remains reasonable by including only a small league fee to cover operational costs. This model allows participants to pay a single fee that covers all weeks of participation, making it a convenient and transparent process for members.
“We’ve built something special here,” Davis reflects. “Good Sport Golf Club isn’t just about the game; it’s about the people, the friendships, and the shared experiences that make golf so rewarding.”
Through his leadership, Samuel Davis has redefined what it means to be part of a golf league. By combining strong organizational skills with a commitment to inclusivity, he has created an environment where amateur golfers can thrive. His passion for the game, paired with his dedication to fostering a welcoming community, ensures that Good Sport Golf Club will continue to grow and make a positive impact on the sport for years to come.
