Hello all,
Sincere thanks to everyone who participated in our Caddy Class at the beautiful Golf Club of Dallas, Saturday, July 8.
Thirty-plus years ago, when I started my junior golf program and received my first USGA grant, a Caddy Program was introduced as part of the curriculum. The program started because our students were entered into U.S. Kids, The Starburst, North Texas Junior Golf, and, in addition to other tournaments that required younger players be assisted on the course.
With the assistance of National Golf Association, The Detroit Country Club and the PGA of America, a structured Caddy Program was designed and implemented for my program The Roaring Lambs Junior Golf Academy”. Caddying is still a vital, working part of all the programs I lead, instruct and direct today.
Special shout out to the fathers who came to learn how to caddy for their daughters as they prepare for golf course play recreationally, as well as tournaments.
A 20 question written test was given after, and during, the presentation. I am proud to say everyone (juniors adults) passed both oral and written, with scores of 90 +??
REMINDER: The Caddy Class is open to young people (male & female) ages 14 -22. Don ‘t forget to work on your Essay!
What a great opportunity that is being given by the Advocates Foundation (see flyer for details).
Thank you, and until next time.
