The Clearview Golf Club, one of America’s most historic and inclusive golf destinations, has announced its upcoming “Ultimate Women’s Golf Weekend,” set for May 30 and 31, 2026, in East Canton, Ohio. This special event marks part of Clearview’s 80th anniversary celebration and promises an inspiring two-day experience of golf, education, and camaraderie designed for women of all skill levels.
Founded in 1946 by William J. Powell, Clearview Golf Club holds the distinction of being the only golf course in the United States designed, built, owned, and operated by an African American. Today, his daughter, Renee Powell—an LPGA and PGA professional and the second African American woman ever to play on the LPGA Tour—continues her father’s legacy as the club’s head professional and ambassador for inclusion in golf.
The Ultimate Women’s Golf Weekend will feature golf clinics, an education breakfast, lunch, and 18 holes of play, capped by a reception and awards ceremony. Limited to 80 golfers, registration is priced at $800 per participant. The weekend is designed to empower women through sport, combining golf instruction with networking opportunities and wellness-oriented discussions.
The event schedule begins with a welcome and meet-and-greet reception on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday’s agenda includes an 8 a.m. registration, continental breakfast, golf clinic and Q&A session, and on-course play, followed by lunch. Sunday’s program will feature a 4-person scramble and an awards luncheon.
A highlight of the weekend will be the Golf Education sessions led by Jan Bel Jan, an ASGCA-certified golf course architect, who will discuss golf course design for women. In addition, Titleist representatives will showcase equipment, balls, and clothing specifically designed for women players.
Renee Powell, who has dedicated her life to growing the game among women, juniors, veterans, and underrepresented groups, said in a recent message, “Clearview has always been about more than golf—it’s about community, inclusion, and giving everyone a fair shot to enjoy this beautiful game.”
Powell’s contributions to golf have earned her global recognition, including induction into the PGA of America Hall of Fame and the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. Her work through the Clearview Legacy Foundation continues to honor her father’s vision by promoting education and preserving Clearview as a symbol of equality in sports.
All activities for the weekend will take place at Clearview Golf Club, located at 8410 Lincoln Street, East Canton, Ohio. Registration for the event closes on May 1, 2026.
