The KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit remains a standout of KPMG Women’s PGA Championship week, inspiring participants and beyond with stories and advice from success stories in multiple industries.
The 8th-annual Summit began Wednesday morning, June 22, with former world No. 1 Stacy Lewis leading an instructional golf clinic at Congressional Golf Club. Then, over 300 executives moved inside for the program, with an inspiring video highlighting glass-ceiling-breaking moments by women to set the tone for the four-and-a-half-hour program.
“What might not even be possible today,” the opening video montage said, “could be what defines tomorrow.”
Kathryn Tappen, NBC Sports reporter, stepped in, serving as the emcee for the 2022 KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit. She hosted wide-ranging interviews with every guest. Condoleezza Rice, the 66th U.S. Secretary of State, shared her experiences ranging from growing up in Alabama to how she manages her mental health.
“I am a huge believer that Title IX is one of the most important things we’ve done as a country,” Rice said, “When I watch now these young women who can learn the leadership skills that sport provides… I’m so glad that women have these opportunities that men have had for so long.”
