The Emerald Coast Amateur was played August 1-2, 2015, in Sandestin, Florida, hosted by the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. The 2nd annual Golf Channel Amateur tour was contested over 36-holes and participants were scheduled to play one (1) round at the Raven course and one (1) round at the private Burnt Pines Course. Winner Dorothy Johnson is a resident of Cantonment, Fla.

Johnson, age 65, known as “DOT” among her friends, is a consistent winner on The Golf Channel amateur tournaments and plays year-round. She has been playing the game since 1991 and on May 27, 2012, she received the Founder’s Award at the African American Golfers Hall Of Fame in West Palm Beach, Fla.
On Tuesday, “Champions Tuesday”, The Golf Channel streamed across the screen the winners names of the Emerald Coast Amateur along with winners names of the other tours such as the PGA, LPGA, European, and Web.com Tour. This is a real honor for Johnson, which she has truly earned.
