Earl Cooper
(November 8, 2011)–Earl Anthony Cooper is truly a young renaissance man. Cooper was born in Flint, Michigan but raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He also spent some time in New Jersey, where his father saw a flyer about the LPGA Urban Youth Golf Program and quickly signed him up. Today, the 22-year-old, self-employed, Atlanta resident is a 0 handicap who plays the mini-tours and writes children’s books for a living.
Cooper is a graduate of Morehouse College, class of 2011, where he earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Political Science with a concentration in Philosophy. In addition, he was Vice–President of The Next American Great Poet, where he was involved in mentoring local Atlanta high school students on the importance of literature and poetry. Cooper has also served as Vice-President of Young Achievers in high school, actively mentoring and motivating his underclassmen to strive for excellence and success in life.
Cooper was the first African American all-state golfer for the state of Delaware. His keen golfing skills reaped him a golf scholarship to play for Morehouse College’s golf team where he became an instrumental member in leading the college to their 1st division 2 National Championship in 2010. He continues to play everyday and practices at public courses. He also plays rounds with his former golf team members from college and on private courses whenever the opportunity presents itself.
During his distinctive career Cooper has earned many golf honors and achievements including First Team-All Conference 2010 and 2011. Currently, he is pursuing a professional golf career and is enrolled in the Professional Golf Association Post-Graduate Program in Port St. Lucie. Florida. “Once the six weeks is up, I will have a level 1 certification,” says a proud Cooper, who has his goals set on moving up the ladder in the industry.
To stay competitive in the game, Cooper relies on his trainer, Professional Golfer Gregory Aubrey. “We have been working really hard to make my swing more consistent. I enjoy working with Coach Aubrey because he has caddied and played on the Nationwide Tour so, he knows what it takes to get out there.”
During his young life, Cooper has achieved many accomplishments that a lot of men—younger and older— would be proud to earn, and, he is striving everyday to instill core values in others.
His passion to instill these values was so abundant that, even while he took 39 credit hours during his senior year of college he still managed to be named Conference First Team-All Academic and to author a book entitled “Hello, Maroon Tiger,” a children’s book about Morehouse College’s mascot that engages young children at an early age to visualize attending college when they grow up. Cooper’s concepts propagate, “Dreams do come true, so Dream B.I.G.”
He believes, if he can live his dream, coming from a humble beginning, every young child (especially Black children) can achieve the same. “I enjoy the game because I have been playing since the age of six. It has also been a place where I excelled and rose to the top. I love the fact that golf is a sport that shows you that hard work does pay off.”

He is an up and coming young man that not only believes dreams can come true, but he wants young children to know for a fact that their dreams can come true as well. “You just have to believe!,” he says adamantly. Cooper has mastered the concept of achievement and has the expertise to train individuals to achieve the same success formula he created for himself.
