Ed Lawson of Charlotte, North Carolina had his first hole-in-one on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the Dr. Charles L. Sifford Golf Course at Revolution Park, Charlotte, North Carolina. The shot was made on Hole #7, 200 yards using Titleist 6 Iron and Titleist Pro V1 Golf Ball. His Playing partners were Jay Washington, James Boulware and Don Kinzle.

In recognition of his decades of dedication and service to golf administration, he was inducted into the National Black Golf Hall of Fame in 1997.
