The Honorable Israel Brooks was the first African-American to serve as a S.C. State Trooper in 1967.The Newberry Native believed in “educational excellence” and thus, the Brooks Foundation was created and since 2016, has awarded 18 students a cumulative total of $49K in scholarships. The Brooks Family in partnership with the Saint John Baptist Church Family invites you to join the fun and fellowship at the Country Club of NEWBERRY on Columbus Day to continue the legacy!!
The 10th Annual Israel Brooks Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, October 9th (COLUMBUS DAY) at The Country Club of Newberry (CCN), 414 Country Club Road in Newberry, S.C. Registration/donations can be done online for this milestone event at the website, www.ibrooksgolfsc.com.
There will be a Silent Auction and Gala on Saturday, October 7th at 5:30 pm at the Medallion Conference Center. Colonel Chris Williamson of the S.C. Highway Patrol will be the guest speaker. Details available at the website.
