Since 2002 The James “Coach” Day Scholarship Golf Tournament has awarded over $60,000 In scholarship funds to senior high school student athletes who participated in the Bob Hayes Track and Field Meet.
The James (Coach) Day Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is a joint effort in conjunction with the Bob Hayes Invitational Track and Field Meet to raise funds to support the James (Coach) Day Memorial Scholarship Fund. Our organization will give students in their senior year and who also participate in the meet, the opportunity to earn a $2500 scholarship to use the skills they have learned to excel in sports get a head start in college. Three scholarships will be awarded based on an established criterion. The purpose of the event is not only to provide scholarships for young athletes, but also to give the community an opportunity to get involved and encourage our young people to go farther in their academic endeavors.
