The Virginia African American Cultural Center, Inc. will hold its Fourth Annual Golf Tournament fundraiser on Juneteenth, a national holiday, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cypress Point Country Club, 5340 Club Head Road, Virginia Beach. The golf tournament is being held to raise money to build this state-of-the-art center off Newtown Road in Virginia Beach.

This event serves to aid in the continuance of the VAACC’s programming, community events and building the Virginia African American Cultural Center, to be located 744 Hampshire Lane, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. The VAACC is a non-profit, 501(c)(3).
 
The mission of the Virginia African American Cultural Center is: “To collect, preserve, interpret, inform and celebrate Virginia’s African American history, culture and community and to educate the public about African Americans’ contributions in all areas of endeavor.”
 
The Virginia African American Cultural Center will be a place where residents and visitors can learn about the richness and diversity of the African American experience relating to their lives, historically, aesthetically and culturally. The Center will transcend race and unite the history of many older communities by sharing stories that shaped the fabric of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
