Tiger Woods and Harold Varner III finished their respective 3rd rounds at The Players deadlocked at -8. Tiger went deep with a -7 (65) and Varner shot -2 (70). Tiger will be paired on Sunday's final round with his good buddy Jordan Spieth, who also finished Saturday at -8, with a (65) of his own. Unfortunately the leader Webb Simpson has a stranglehold on this tournament at the moment at -19. A seven stroke lead on the field. His closest challenger is Danny Lee at -12. Nobody has ever lost The Players after having a 7 stroke lead after 54 holes. For the moment Tiger, Varner, and Spieth are in a busy tie at 9th place with plenty others at -10 and -9. Tomorrow no doubt should be worth the price of admission, plus some. Currently Webb Simpson is ranked number 41st in the world and hasn't won anything of note since winning the 2012 U.S. Open at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. Let's see were he's ranked after the conclusion of round 4 tomorrow. To all you golf fans out there tune in and enjoy the drama. To all you mothers out there "Happy Mother's Day"

Leonard Simmons

Leonard Simmons, chilling in his favorite spot at The Players Championship, between the 6 & 7 fairways. Simmons is married with children, born and raised in Jacksonville, Fla. He retired from UPS in August 2016. Although Leonard has played the famed Stadium Course at Sawgrass, he says his favorite course he’s played is The Legend at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, Minn.  Giants Ridge has long been considered one of Minnesota’s best resort golf vacation destinations. Leonard plays to a 16 handicap, plays every Monday morning with his fellow hackers in Jacksonville.  He says his favorite golfers are Tiger and Fred Couples. Leonard fantasizes that if he had a choice of which one of the Majors he would like to win the most, it’s hands down The Masters. I guess great minds do think alike because that goes for me as well.
