“Happy Holidays!”
Huntsville’s Tennessee Valley Youth Golf Development had the pleasure and opportunity to conduct a golf clinic for 21 youth as part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated – Rho Chi Omega Chapter community service project.
“From the Golf Course to the Boardroom” the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority clinic community service project, was designed for boys and girls in grades 3rd – 8th. The clinic was held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Huntsville Municipal Golf Course. The golf clinic was the first time most of the 12 boys and 9 girls experience golf.
The purpose was to introduce their participants to the game of golf and it intrinsic values such as integrity; perseverance; respect; sportsmanship and mastery; careers opportunities and the social and business connections in golf. Of course, the kids had more fun swinging the golf club and hitting the balls. The clinic was a good start to the 2013 holiday season.
Huntsville’s Tennessee Valley Jazz Society (TVJS) not only presents quality education and entertainment that impacts the economy, but TVJS creates outlets where the community can give to those in need. The community is you and me!
The Tennessee Valley Jazz Society not only impacts the educational and cultural quality of life for the Huntsville-Tennessee Valley Metro area, but the economy as well. With the relationship that I have developed with NEA Jazz Master Ellis Marsalis, the opportunities to impact Huntsville in education, entertainment and the economy is unlimited! With TVJS successful history and future opportunities are we boldly initiating E3= Education? Entertainment? Economics.
For one of the best 2013 holiday season activity, on December 18 & 19, the Tennessee Valley Jazz Society is presenting Freddy Cole (pictured left), an American jazz singer and pianist.
Matter of fact, Mr. Cole is one of the world’s best jazz artistes! Upon Freddy Cole return visit to Huntsville, he will engage in several activities including:
December 18- Dinner with Freddy Cole, Wednesday
December 19 -Humanity Essential Needs Drive, collecting food, clothes and blankets for the needy
-December 19-Jazz Master Class Music Clinic, Thursday, Educational session, Holiday Jazz Performance,Thursday
– December 19-live concert
These activities are held to support the arts and raise awareness and funds for the Tennessee Valley Jazz Society-Youth Development.
With much appreciation,
