Hurricane Junior Golf Tour expanding to China

by AAGD NEWSWIRE

Orlando, FL – The world’s largest operator of multi-day junior golf events continues to grow.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) announced today it is expanding operations to China. The first of several junior golf tournaments in China will kick off in August 2023.

“We have been working on this for a very long time,” said HJGT Founder, Mario Conte. “There’s so much out there for junior golfers that they’re not even aware of yet outside of just golf. We have a large international following here in the United States, and so to finally bring the HJGT to China this year is a major step for not just our tour, but for junior golfers worldwide.”

HJGT, which served nearly 20,000 junior golf registrations at 300+ United States junior golf tournaments last year, plans to expand beyond China.

“This is just the beginning,” says Conte. “HJGT is now operating events in Canada, and now we’re bringing the experience to China. This commitment to international expansion will continue to grow, enhance the HJGT brand, and bring more opportunities for our staff, players, and families.”

Along with the announcement to expand into China, HJGT hired Yue “Joy” Xu to manage international relationships and help expand HJGT into different countries.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining such an exceptional team,” says Xu. “HJGT’s remarkable efforts have laid a strong foundation, shaping it into the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States. I am committed to continuing this outstanding work and elevating the Tour to an international platform.”

Xu, a former competitive junior golfer and Golf Channel employee, will spearhead the new HJGT China division.

“The goal here at HJGT is to expand the game of golf and foster opportunities for junior golfers worldwide. Together, we will work towards creating a global impact, bringing the joy of golf to young players across the world.”
