Inaugural “Women’s Golf Bootcamp Clinic” Launching During Women’s Golf Day Week

by AAGD Staff

All ladies are invited to celebrate Women’s Golf Day and join Charlene Williams and her esteemed friend, Mrs. Susan Bond, in their inaugural golf clinic. Susan, who has a deep passion for introducing veteran women to golf, approached Charlene a few months ago with her desire to assist these women. This collaboration led to the establishment of the “Women’s Golf Bootcamp Clinic.” The first clinic will be launched during Women’s Golf Day week, May 28 – June 4, 2024.

“This clinic is a unique opportunity to learn from top LPGA Professional Susan Bond and to be part of a historic event tailored for veteran and active military women, accommodating both adaptive and non-adaptive needs, says Charlene Williams, President of C.T. Williams VETS Adaptive Golf & Beyond LLC.

After 26 years in the military, Charlene found a therapeutic outlet in adaptive golf, which profoundly changed her life. She believes golf has the potential to positively impact many others as well. As a Women’s Golf Day Ambassador, she is excited to support and celebrate women in golf and invites others to join her on this journey.

Sessions are limited to 8 students and kick-off on Friday, May 31 from 4:00pm-6:00pm with a Welcome Pitching and Putting Reception Meet and Greet at the Champions Club, 3400 SE Summerfield Way, Stuart, Florida 34997. On Saturday, June 1 at 9:00am participants enjoy practice range time, recap Q&A, followed by lunch, more instruction, and an exciting on-course scramble.

Susan Bond, a 33-year member of the PGA of America, currently serves as a PGA Teaching Professional at Grand Harbor Golf Club. Her extensive experience includes roles such as PGA Magazine Relationship Manager, PGA Professional at Stowe Country Club, PGA Assistant Professional at Dorset Field Club, PGA Head Golf Professional at Weekapaug Golf Club, and PGA Teaching Professional at Johns Island Golf Club. She has held various officer positions at the Rhode Island PGA.

Susan’s accolades include being a New England PGA Hall of Fame Member and receiving the Patriot Award, Bill Strausbaugh Award, Horton Smith Award, Outstanding Service Award, and Player Development Award. She has also been recognized as Teacher of the Year by the RIPGA.

Susan’s competitive achievements include participating in the LPGA Sr Tour Championship, being the Maryland Sr Women’s Open Runner-Up, winning the Tennessee Sr Women’s Open, and securing titles in several other prestigious golf tournaments.
