NEW YORK, NY (January 19, 2016)African American Golfer’s Digest, the nation’s leading print publication and online portal for Black American golfers, announces the appointment of James “Jim” Beatty to the position of Executive Editor.  Beatty previously served as a member of its Editorial Advisory Board, since May 2010.

“Through half a decade of service with the publication, Jim has proved his strong devotion to the magazine. His contributions have aided in keeping each edition viable and, on the cutting edge of news worthiness, and practical in its application.  With the landscape of publishing changing drastically, Jim’s efforts in supporting our numerous projects, publication incentives, tour and travel programs and  events have helped to continue to increase the velocity of fulfilling our mission and the achievement of our goals in serving this passionate niche market of golfers,” said Publisher Debert Cook.

In his new role, Beatty will continue to utilize his business experience and strong strategy planning and development.

Beatty is Founder of NCS International, an Omaha, Nebraska-based company that providers of an array of economic development services.  He has a strong history of business success and on July 21, 2015, he was named one of North America’s Top 50 Site Consultants by Consultant Connect, a national economic development firm. Consultant Connect, a national consulting firm that bridges the gap between leading economic developers and site selections consultants, providing a platform to gain transparent feedback, invaluable insights and lasting business relationships.

“I am extremely honored to accept this appointment,” said Beatty.  “I have, for years, admired the magazine’s in-depth coverage and deep entrenchment into our community of color.  Without this exposure, thousands of voices of minority golfers would be lost, and many skilled players would go unrecognized and unsaluted for their talents.  I am very, very pleased to have been a part of such a distinguished endeavor, started by Ms. Cook, back in 2003.  Today, 12-years later, it is because of her diligence, and personal sacrifices, that the magazine has continued to bring exposure and opportunities in this sport to so many of our Black golfers,”  concluded Beatty.

Since he founded NCS International in 1984, Beatty, “Jim” as he is know among friends,   has conducted over 300 economic development projects resulting in $3 Billion in investment and 30,000 jobs.
