The James (Coach) Day Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is a collaborative effort with the Bob Hayes Invitational Track and Field Meet aimed at raising funds for the James (Coach) Day Memorial Scholarship Fund. This organization, based in Jacksonville, Florida, offers a $2,500 scholarship to graduating high school seniors who participate in the meet and demonstrate exceptional skills in sports, thereby helping them get a head start in college. Three scholarships will be awarded based on a predetermined criterion.
The primary goal of this event which is being held on May 1 at Eagle Landing Golf Course in Orange Park, Florida, is to not only provide scholarships for young athletes but also to encourage the community to get involved and motivate our youth to strive for higher academic achievements. Gregory J. Coleman, Executive Director, personally invites corporations to become partners, stating that their endorsement will help further support student-athletes. As a benefit, they will be associated with the largest and most prestigious high school track meet in the country.
For more than 50 years, the Bob Hayes Track and Field Meet has been a significant part of the Jacksonville community and beyond. Please consider reviewing the golf tournament’s sponsorship opportunities and join us in supporting our country’s future leaders.
