Lindsay Scott
(March 11, 2011)–Lindsay Scott caught the winning touchdown pass for Georgia against Florida during the1980 football classic for a 92-yard touchdown on national television. Since then, he’s endured friendly jesting from his buddies with the famous saying, “Run, Lindsay run!”
Today, Lindsay is self-employed and an avid golfer. Born in Jessup, GA (Southeast, Georgia) he attended and played football for the University of Georgia. He earned his B.A. degree from Valdosta State in Speech Communications. He also played as a wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints (NFL).
Lindsay, 50, lives in Valdosta, Georgia overlooking beautiful Stone Creek golf course with his wife, Dr. Ronda Scott and he is proud of his accomplishments on and off the field. Lindsay has two sons in college in Atlanta, a younger daughter in the local Valdosta public school system and an older daughter who teaches fourth grade in Atlanta.
The 6 foot 4 inch entrepreneur was introduced to the game of golf while at the University of Georgia and continues to seek to improve his ball striking skills, but just enough to play in local golf events and have some fun. He receives regular golf instruction from his personal coach, Addie Cobb, owner, Addie Cobb Golf Academy (Valdosta, GA) and asserts that he pays very close attention at every lesson and to every tip she shares with him.
“Athletically, I get away with a whole lot of stuff on the course, but I’m just basically still learning the game. I just want to be disciplined and consistent,” he says. In fact, he is excitedly filling out an application this week to play next month in the Valdosta State golf tournament on April 18. “As long as I hold my own and don’t embarrass myself, I’m okay,” he chuckles.
Lindsay is still very aligned to the University of Georgia and wears the school colors (red and black) nearly every day.
