(January 23, 2019) “Two awards in two nights!” is how 31-year-old professional golfer Mackenzie Mack, PGA/LPGA, described it in her own words, during an absolutely phenomenal round of professional recognitions that she received. The presentations were made during the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show and Convention in Orlando, Florida where Mack received both the US Kids Top 50 Junior Golf Instructor Award and the LPGA National Junior Leader award.
“It has been an amazing week at the PGA Show! Thanks to everyone that came to support me! Especially Mom, who skipped her Bahamas time to be with me!!” Mack is affiliated with the Rogers Park Golf Course in Tampa, Florida and shared the news on her Facebook page with friends and fans.
The LPGA T&CP Junior Golf Leadership Award was established in 2012 and is awarded annually to an LPGA Teaching and Club Professional member who excels in teaching and promoting golf for juniors. The US Kids Top 50 Junior Golf Instructor Award program recognizes the world’s most outstanding youth instructors. Mackenzie Mack is a proven leader with a long list of accomplishments, and awards, earned through her professionalism, diligence, and consistency on-and-off of the golf course.
“We won!!! …my sister won the National Junior Leader Award for the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and I could not be more proud!” exclaimed an excited Sydnee Mack on a Facebook post. “Just two years ago, I wrote a press release on my blog announcing that my sister had made HISTORY by becoming just the 4th African American Woman in history to hold duel Class A membership in both the LPGA and PGA of America.
“Two years ago, she joined an elite group of women with her accomplishment; but tonight she solidified her place in a league of her own. I am so very proud of you Mackenzie Mack. Thank you for being my first friend, my role model, and my first client,” said Sydnee, Principal Attorney and Owner of her Atlanta, Georgia-based law firm.
Mackenzie Mack graced the cover of the African American Golfer’s Digest in 2016, when she made history by becoming the 4th African American to hold both a PGA and LPGA Class A Membership.
