The second annual tournament, hosted by the African American Golfer’s Digest in conjunction with the Harlem Fine Arts Show, was lots of fun. 24 golfers participated in the off-island ‘get-away’ to play their round (via a scenic ferry ride) at Cape Cod Country Club in Falmouth, MA. Formatted as a 2-person, individual stroke play, golfers had a grand time playing the tournament in the sunshine during a beautiful day at Cape Cod.
During the get-away golfers enjoyed lazy beach days, jazz music nights, daily art seminars, celebrity book signings along with historical island tours and a variety of entertainment, shopping and dining option. A special VIP wine reception hosted by Mercedes-Benz at a private estate on the Vineyard was well enjoyed by all.
Golfer gift bags were filled with plenty of goodies including Amazing Bloddy Mary cocktail mix, golf balls, customized AAGD golf belts, golf towels, luggage tags, a premium thermos, sunglasses, cordial glasses, and more good things. The dock-side awards night was enjoyed at the popular Nancy’s oceanfront with a variety of culinary delights with mixed cocktails, wine and beer.
