Jim Beatty, President of Jim Beatty Golf Ventures and Founder of the African American Golf EXPO and Forum announces Maulana Dotch, General Manager of the Hermann Park Golf Course in Houston ,Texas as a keynote speaker.
Ms. Dotch is one a very few female African American general managers of a golf course in America. She is a graduate of Bethune Cookman College where she was on the golf team.
Beatty stated, “Maulana is one of the most respected people in the golf industry. She has consistently demonstrated her leadership throughout her brilliant career. She serves as an inspiration to everyone on what can be accomplished in the golf industry.”
Maulana will share her remarkable and inspirational story with the attendees at the EXPO. She will share her journey which will serve to motivate other to pursue careers in the $102 Billion Golf industry. She will also discuss the nonprofit she founded, “Journey Through 18,” which is focused on providing girls and young women with access to golf.
Maulana Dotch is a highly experienced golf professional and the dedicated general manager of Hermann Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas. With a deep passion for the game, Maulana oversees all aspects of golf operations at this vibrant public course, leading a team of 50 employees to provide exceptional experiences for golfers of all levels.
About Maulana Dotch
Before her role at Hermann Park, Maulana served as the Head Golf Professional at Cedar Crest Golf Course, in Dallas, Texas. She continues to serve as a member of the National PGA Works Committee.
Maulana honed her skills as a competitive golfer, representing Bethune-Cookman University on the Women’s golf team. Her collegiate athletic experience instilled in her a strong work ethic, resilience, and a commitment to excellence that continues to drive her success in the golf industry.
Adding to her impressive career, Maulana is the visionary founder of Journey Through 18, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to providing girls with access to golf. Through this initiative, Maulana aims to empower young women by offering them opportunities to learn the game and utilize acquired skills for personal growth. Journey Through 18 is making significant strides in fostering inclusivity and diversity within the Houston community while contributing to the overall growth of the sport.
