Michael Jordan — by acclamation, is the greatest basketball player of all time. In the Fall of 2019, the former NBA player opened his very own golf club, named Grove XXIII, in South Florida. The name is derived from Jordan’s infamous career jersey number No. 23 he wore while playing with the Chicago Bulls.
In settling on the idea of starting his own golf club, the story goes that Jordan had grown weary of the rules and regulations –and culture of one of is golfing spots, the Medalist Golf Club in Jupiter. Deciding not to wait out the long process for recommending changes, the NBA great purchased a tract of land, hired golf course designer Bobby Weed to help with the project and when completed, Jordan invited some members. That’s the way billionaires do it.
Today, the sandy, grass-covered property which twists in an ingenious double-helix with routing that can be played in four nine + nine combinations, and in shorter three- to six-hole loops is turning heads in more ways than one. Jordan’s Grove XXIII private golf club has a few unique amenities and intergrates technology by replacing on-course staff with modernized drones to handle food and beverage deliveries straight to golfers during their round.
At Grove XXIII you won’t have to wonder where the cart girl/guy is with the snacks you crave, instead, drones fly out with members’ orders directly to them on the golf course.

As players place their orders for beverages or food, the completed order is securely attached to one of the many course drones and taken to the recipient right out on the course. A drone pilot guides the gentle lowering. Once the delivery has been made, the drone returns to the clubhouse and is ready for the next delivery.
Tennis Champion Caroline Wozniacki shared a video of her experience of watching a drone land with beverages and snacks during her recent visit to Grove XXIII.
Grove XXIII’s other unique facets include golf carts without a governor, which means speeds of up to 35 mph, the maximum cart speed at almost every golf club. Also at Grove XXIII, the caddies ride on golf scooters, enabling them to quickly jump ahead of golfers when needed and not slow up members who ride in carts while they walk.
Grove XXIII is contemporary, tech-savvy, and the place to be for an extraordinary golfing experience.
