The public is invited to attend “Celebration 2023” hosted by the Midnight Golf Program (MGP). The annual event will commemorate the successes of the Class of 2023 and the organization’s 22nd year of operation. This event will also recognize the recipients of scholarships and special awards. The celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fellowship Chapel located at 7707 West Outer Drive, Detroit, MI 48235.
All members of the public are welcome to attend this event, and registration is encouraged. Registration is not necessary for non-MGP students. Registration is available at https://midnightgolf.org/celebration.
The Midnight Golf Program helps young people turn determination into success as they transition from high school, to college, into a professional career and beyond. The MGP’s methodology provides a transformational experience for young people and MGP is invested in eliminating barriers to success for all of its students. Starting in their senior year of high school, through college graduation and into the workforce, the Midnight Golf Program provides a comprehensive support system and essential resources so students can thrive during this exciting time in their lives.
More than 3,200 MGP participants have moved on to college since the program began in 2001. The students have studied at more than 150 different colleges and universities across the country. MGP is a nationally recognized community-based program founded in 2001 by Reneé Fluker, a social worker and single mother who noticed the impact golf had on her son’s life.The MGP is currently accepting applications for it 2024 program and applicants can apply at https://midnightgolf.org/apply
