2026 marks the 9th anniversary of the Monday Before the Show (MBTS). MBTS is an 18-hole golf
networking event where women from around the country register to attend on the Monday before the
PGA Show in Orlando, Florida. Part of our mission is to celebrate African American Women Pioneers and
the next generation of women in golf.

This year, we hosted the MBTS for the second year in a row at The Legacy Golf at Alaqua Lakes. The staff
at Legacy are always professional and accommodating, creating an environment that reflects the true
spirit of the game, hospitality, respect, and community. We are grateful for their partnership and
continued support of our event.

Each year, we honor someone from the present, the future, and the past. Our esteemed panelists
representing the present were Master LPGA Teaching Professional Oneda Castillo, the future;
professional golfer Kendall Jackson, and the past; the late LPGA Teaching Professional Member and
amateur golfer Wendy Boyd. Our theme this year was Mental Health & Wellness.

MBTS esteemed panelists: Life Coach, Lisandra Suarez, SHRM-SCP, C.P.C., A.C.C., golfer Kim Davis, Master LPGA Teaching Professional Oneda Castillo, and professional golfer Kendall Jackson

Our panel discussion was led by LPGA Top 50 Best Teacher Ashaunta Epps. Panelists Oneda Castillo and
friend Kim Davis shared heartfelt stories of their friendship with Wendy Boyd and her enormous impact
on the game and community.

AM-AM TEAM: (l-r) LPGA Teaching Professional Member, Alice Brown, Desiree Walker, Genie Ward, Sherri Solomon, Longest Drive (no picture) Allyson Perry, LPGA Teaching Professional Member Erika Birdie.

Panelist and Life, Leadership, and Wellness coach Lisandra Suarez, SHRM-SCP, C.P.C., A.C.C., eloquently
used golf as a metaphor for life and healing. She also shared this quote that exemplifies why golf is more
than a sport. “Golf is a mirror for life, leadership, and balance. As we step onto the course…and life,
together we’re also stepping into an experience in which trust, self-awareness, and camaraderie are
paramount.”

Our day of golf was sunny and a bit on the cooler side, but that didn’t keep our eager pros and amateur
golfers from having fun and enjoying camaraderie on the course. The best part of the event is always the
19th hole, where we brag about our great shots and laugh about the ones that went in the water.
Fellowship is always the brightest part of any golf event.

Next year will mark our 10th anniversary. We look forward to celebrating how far we’ve come and
continuing to honor our past, present, and future with a theme that expresses our love for the game. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to our sponsors: LPGA Professionals, A Perfect Swing Golf Foundation, Alice Brown Golf, Callaway, Women In Golf Foundation, E.T.G., Swing Easy Golf LLC., Fore Life, Ladies on the Green.
