August 29, 2019–Montgomery, AL:  Aiming to keep it all in the family 8-year-old London Moriyah Leonard and 12-year-old Lauryn Olivia Leonard are young golf champions who will represent Alabama on September 8, 2019 by competing in the regional Drive, Chip and Putt Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Atlanta, GA on 9/8/2019.

Little London, a native of Montgomery, Alabama and student at Pike Road Elementary will compete in the Girls 7–9 age division in the Southeastern regional championship. London finished first in the local and second in the sub-regional competitions this summer.

Her sister, Lauryn Olivia Leonard, also a Montgomery, Alabama native and a student at Trinity Presbyterian School will compete in the Girls 12-13 age division of the Southeastern regional championship.  She finished third in the local and first in the sub-regional competitions this summer. Lauryn was also featured on the Golf Channel as a national finalist in the 2016 Drive, Chip and Putt Championship at Augusta National.

Talent and Skill Cultivated By Their Dad

The Leonard sisters have been playing golf since they were toddlers and started playing tournament golf at age 5.  Their father and coach, Quincy Leonard founder of Leo Golf Academy, says that they are very talented and skilled golfers. “Lauryn & London picked up the game of golf from watching their older brother, Quincy Ahlias, play and win competitive golf. They have become skilled golfers by competing against each other and practicing on their golf game continuously. I am proud of their determination and hard work to make it this far.” says Leonard.
