Muloma Heritage Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to provide strategic leadership during an exciting period of growth and opportunity. This role requires significant operational and fiscal management expertise, along with a strong background in program planning, grant writing, fundraising, and external relations. Building and sustaining meaningful stakeholder partnerships will be central to the position.

The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of nonprofit management experience in a chief executive role, along with demonstrated knowledge of food and food culture, historic preservation, historic interpretation, and heritage tourism. Proficiency in financial management, including budget preparation and grants management, is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to engage diverse audiences through public speaking. Regional travel and weekend availability are expected as part of the role.

The position is based in the culturally rich Lowcountry region, encompassing the Charleston area, St. Helena Island, Savannah, and Beaufort, South Carolina. Candidates must currently reside in the region or be willing to relocate.

Muloma Heritage Center is deeply rooted in preserving and celebrating the cultural traditions of the Gullah Geechee Corridor. The Executive Director will play a key role in advancing the organization’s mission by strengthening programs, fostering community engagement, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
