This coming Saturday, November 4th, National Links Trust will be hosting Rock Creek Park Golf Community Day.
This FREE family event will feature a number of programs and activities including arts and crafts, a disc golf clinic, free junior and adult golf lessons, a Community Partner Expo, and more. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase. All (including dogs!) are welcome.
The event schedule includes Disc Golf (tee times) from 8 AM to 11:30 AM, and Invasive Vegetation & Habitat Restoration taking place from 9 AM to Noon. Led by the National Park Service Rock Creek Weed Warriors, participants are invited to join this volunteer event to clear invasive vegetation from the property. Registration is encouraged.
The Community Partner Expo is scheduled for Noon to 5 PM, where attendees can learn more about the activities and initiatives of various local non-profits, including the Anacostia Watershed Society, Rock Creek Conservancy, and First Tee – Greater Washington, DC, among others, aimed at making a positive impact on the community.
From Noon to 3 PM, there will be Free Introductory Golf Lessons available for both adults and juniors. These lessons, provided by the Play DC Golf Academy and First Tee – Greater Washington, DC, do not require registration and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The clinics will be held at approximately 12:15 PM, 1:00 PM, 1:45 PM, and 2:30 PM.
