Confidants, Constituents, Comrades and students (past and present),
I have preached for 40 years “If you don’t have a short game, you don’t have a game. It’s not how you drive, it’s how you arrive! You drive for SHOW and putt for DOUGH!!!
The final round of the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia was the most exciting and emotional event I have witnessed in a long time.
It was a roller coaster ride up-and-down, back and forth on the leader board….The drama had me on the edge of my chair holding my breath watching with one eye!
It came down to the short game with Justin Rose making a putt on 18 to tie, resulting in a Sudden Death Play Off!
Returning to hole 18 both Rory and Justin had great drives and great approach shots to the green. Justin putted first but missed.
Thousands of golf enthusiast lined the fairway in addition to millions of people around the world watching on TV, as Rory McIlroy putted and made a 4 to 5 foot putt to become the 6th golfer to achieve the career Grand Slam in men’s golf, winning all four majors, joining Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods!!!
Even though I was pulling for Bryson DeChambeau —before he imploded, I am so happy for Rory! He deserves this long time coming win and green jacket!
On another note I want to thank all the ladies who have been in my Saturday 6-Week Clinics and Sunday evening once a month “Women On Course” clinic.
