TRAVEL & MEDICAL INSURANCE
A U.S. policy and a Cuban policy is required.
1. U.S. Insurance Policy
The basic U.S. travel insurance policy is underwritten by Travel Insured International. For full information visit www.travelinsured.com
2. Cuban Insurance Policy
The basic Cuban travel insurance is from Asistur/Esicubam, which is the state-owned insurance agency. With this policy, group members do NOT need to pay cash out-of-pocket in case of emergencies. This is critical in Cuba because without this insurance policy, doctors and medical facilities require upfront cash payment, and it is extremely difficult for Americans to quickly obtain sufficient Cuban CUCs for such cash payment since most U.S. ATM cards do not work there.
