“Poetic Justice, Maybe” —150th Open Championship

by John Perry

What a coincidence how the 150th Open Championship ended up.  The R&A chose not to invite two-time Champion Greg Norman to the traditional Champion’s Dinner.  The two key figures who spoke out against Norman, Tiger and Rory, had unsatisfactory finishes.  Tiger couldn’t break even par and missed the cut.  Rory, crowd favorite by a mile, owned a two-shot lead in the final round heading to the back nine and got ran over by Cameron Smith, who came from 4 back to edge him out by 2 strokes.  2022 Open Champion Cameron Smith is from Australia, Norman’s home country.  I would bet big bucks that Norman is feeling pretty good about the way things turned out.

They say “GOD DON’T LIKE UGLY”, maybe there’s something to that.
