Police Charge Suspect in Vandalism at Trump Turnberry Golf Course

Donald Trump has referred to those responsible for damaging a Scottish golf course as “terrorists” and expressed hope that they face severe consequences, according to The Scotsman.

The incident occurred at the Trump Turnberry golf course on Maidens Road, Turnberry, South Ayrshire, and was reported to police around 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, March 8. Police Scotland confirmed that a 33-year-old man had been charged in connection with the incident. Additionally, a 75-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman, who were previously arrested as part of the investigation, have been released pending further inquiries, according to a report by The Scotsman.

In a post on his Truth Social account on Sunday, Trump claimed he had been informed by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer that those responsible had been apprehended. “They did serious damage, and will hopefully be treated harshly,” Trump wrote. He further alleged that “three people who did this are in prison,” while praising the efforts of Prime Minister Starmer and UK law enforcement.

The 33-year-old suspect is expected to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, while police investigations continue.

Trump Turnberry Golf Course is one of the most prestigious golf resorts in the world. Established in 1906, the course has hosted multiple Open Championships and is known for its breathtaking coastal views and challenging layout.
