WASHINGTON, D.C. – In partnership with Participant Media, national online platform PushBlack will honor the legacy of Congressman John Lewis by hosting a second screening and Q&A of the recently released documentary John Lewis: Good Trouble.
The film tells the story of the late John Lewis, an American hero who spent his life fighting for voting rights and racial justice. Using present-day interviews with Lewis, the film explores his childhood experiences, inspiring family, and faithful meeting with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. The film is open for viewing now through Thursday, July 30th. On Wednesday, July 29th, at 4:30 pm PST / 7:30 pm EST, PushBlack will hold an online viewing and discussion with Actress/Producer Erika Alexander and PushBlack Digital Content Manager Jareyah Bradley.

The nonprofit’s model of disseminating current events through a historical lens and sharing daily inspirational stories empowers subscribers through education and motivates them to take action against systemic racism. Lewis’ story is a sobering reminder of the Black community’s continued struggle for civil rights and the work that still needs to be done to combat voter suppression tactics, which infringe on the voting rights of Black people.
Trailblazing activist and actress Erika Alexander is on a mission to bring greater equity, inclusion, and diverse representation to both media technology and electoral politics. This latest endeavor with her company, Color Farm Media, achieves that objective by telling the story of a renowned Civil Rights hero who will inspire Black Americans to vote.
