Sifford Centennial 2022 Preps for Several Exciting Recognition Events and Celebrations

The Sifford Centennial 2022 honors the late pro golfer Charlie Sifford, who, if he were still alive, would celebrate his 100th birthday on June 2. The Sifford Centennial project includes several highlight events happening throughout the year and special merchandise that is available to the public including the Just Let Me Play Centennial Collection and Sifford Centennial Cigars.

In this interview Russ T. Crockett, Managing Director, JLMP LLC. Russ speaks with African American Golfer’s Digest reporter Kelley Pierre to share the details of the many celebrations that are planned, corporate and social partnerships, the newly released Centennial Edition of the (print and audiobook) “Just Let Me Play” that includes historic photos and updates to the biography of the legendary Charlie Sifford who penned his original book over 20 years ago.

ABOUT RUSS T. CROCKETT

Russell T. Crockett, Jr. is Managing Partner & CEO of RTC Energy LLC, a management consulting firm he started in 2014.  He is also a partner in JLMP LLC – managing the exclusive life rights of Dr. Charles L. Sifford estate as part of the Sifford Centennial Celebration.

During his career, Mr. Crockett has served as Senior Vice President, Commercial at TPC Group, from 2008 to 2013.  He was also Vice President, Chemical Sales Americas for Lyondell Chemical Company from 2001 to 2008.  While at Lyondell, he also served as Vice President Responsible Care and Engineering, Channelview Hydrocarbons Plant Manager, Business Director, Aromatics & Fuels and Treasury Management Consultant.  Russ began his career with EI Dupont de Nemours & Co., serving in successive business and operations assignments.

Mr. Crockett holds an M.B.A. from University of Michigan and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.  He is a member of Carnegie Mellon’s Board of Trustees, a member of the Software Engineering Institute Board of Visitors and a Board member for the Education and Charities Foundation of Houston.  He and his wife Valerie have 3 children, two boys and a girl and reside in Houston.
