(June 10, 2011)–Surveys show that baby boomers are transforming the meaning of the word “retirement”. Ironically, many people from this daring group of people are the most active in work style and recreational activities. With that being said, no wonder the 59-year-old Steve Taylor is still swinging today.

Steve_TaylorAccording to Steve golf is one of the best methods to relax, socialize and be competitive in 4 hours or less, “…especially for active Baby Boomers like me,” Steve added. So that we can all look and feel as healthy as Mr. Steve Taylor, here’s a little inside scoop of his routine.

Some may seek outside help in perfecting their skill, however Steve says, “I am my own trainer.” Before each outing at the driving range or a round, to unleash Chi energy, Steve uses MFT (Meridian Finger Tapping), which is a two-minute exercise that requires you to tap the 12 meridian points (the same areas that are stimulated by acupuncturists with their painless needles) from your head to your waist for improved energy flow. Brainwave training helps to relax his back muscles.

Professional golfers have used the brainwave over the years to keep their mental focus sharp. As a result his swing is more fluid because of improved flexibility. His golf handicap is 24.

Steve is a Certified Trainer in the use of Audio Visual Entrainment, a form of brainwave entrainment, from Mind Alive, Inc.;  Steve also uses a device to provide light and sound stimulation in a 25 minute protocol to help remain mentally focused and keep his shoulders, arms and back loose.

Steve_Taylor2Keeping the back loose is especially important to Steve mainly because he had to endure, not one, but two back surgeries. “I’m not the most limber guy in the house,” Steve adds.

Steve became hooked to playing golf while he worked as a corporate sales trainer with sales reps in states that had great golf courses. Instead of buying dinner his reps would ask Steve to pay for a round of golf.

He became fond of the courses in Northern Michigan during early autumn. “The fall leaf colors and course layouts are breathtaking.” Before he knew it, Steve was taking lessons at the old Playboy Club in southern Wisconsin and buying any golf aide and new club available that he thought would provide a competitive edge.

Steve_Taylor5The New York native even relocated to Milwaukee, WI and is a member of the Wisconsin Golf Association.

When Steve was married he often played with his former brother-in-law at the beautiful Eagle River in WI. His set goal is to play at least one round of 18 holes per week in the spring and summer months of this year.

He is currently in pursuit of his Doctorate in Organizational Leadership Psychology from the University of the Rockies. Steve has already completed an M.S. in Education Technology and Professional Development at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee and BA in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

In addition the Business Development Consultant provides training in the use of brainwave entrainment to enhance mental focus for adults in business, education and golf.

Steve_Taylor4He has completed a Project Management Professional certification course and Six Sigma Green Belt Master’s Training Course through the Chicago Deming Society.

Steve is a Certified Nutritional Supplement Counselor with the Holt Institute of Medicine. He is even certified as a Substitute High School Teacher-Wisconsin Department of Instruction and a Webmaster.

According to Steve, “the biggest challenge is mastering the longest distance on the golf course. The eight inches between our ears and under our golf cap. Success is in the mental approach to the game.”
