Supporting Our Golfers and the Families in Asheville, NC

We have learned from Harry Jeter, a long -standing member of our Black Golf Community in Asheville, NC of a number of needs due to Hurricane Helene. Let’s support our golfers and their families in Asheville by providing the following items and/ or monetary contributions.

  1. Batteries
  2. Flash Lights
  3. Candles
  4. Landing Lights
  5. Money for the Food Bank

Items can be dropped off at Dr. Charles L. Sifford Golf Course (1225 Remount Road, Charlotte, NC 28208).

  • John W. Love, Sr. has dedicated more than 55 years to the game of golf, both as a passionate player and as a tireless advocate for its history and growth. A gifted historian and storyteller, he shares the rich legacy, remarkable achievements, and lasting contributions of Black golfers dating back to the late 1890s. Widely respected for his leadership and excellence as a tournament director, Love has been a longtime member of the Par Busters Golf Group in Charlotte, North Carolina. In recognition of his decades of dedication and service to golf administration, he was inducted into the National Black Golf Hall of Fame in 1997.
