Just crossing the line into being a teenager, Kristopher “Kris” Stiles is one of the top young golfers in the country. His performance has been drawing comparisons by many to that of Tiger Woods at an early age. While a lot of youth simply only dream of reaching this pinnacle of success, young Kris is pushing the bar forward to actually getting there.
“It’s a blessing to our family,’ says his mom Linda. Kris’ mom and dad, Kenji, are sacrificing a whole lot to keep this blessing on track. The devoted Lancaster, Calif., parents are doing all they can and help from, nevertheless, all of the necessities of home are a financial strain, with the family downsizing to keep the lights on, food on the table, and more. The family functions as a team, one team-one dream, and a lot of pressure is on all of them, believing that golf is his way out. “The whole family is competitive,” says Kris.
2017 will be a big year for Kris, who is now 14 years old and a freshman at Bishop Alemany high school. He’s looking to earn a college scholarship and the best way to do that is to play on the AJGA tour. The family has established a GoFundMe page for supporters and hope that people will be encouraged to contribute.
AJGA is the top tour for juniors golfers across the country. It’s where the best of the best play. https://www.ajga.org/index-normal.asp
In order to even play on this tour, you have to earn your way on. Kris has done just that. See more info on the GoFundMe page.
