Last summer, the Jack Vardaman Workforce Development Program provided interns and caddies at the historic Langston Golf Course with invaluable experiences. Designed to equip adolescents and young adults in the local community with critical job and life skills, the program aims to prepare participants for future academic and career success.
Witnessing the program’s impact firsthand at Langston Golf Course revealed its transformative nature. It goes beyond a summer initiative, fostering essential life skills, cultivating lasting friendships and mentorships, and creating pathways to college scholarships and broader opportunities.
A short video has been created to highlight the program’s incredible impact. The Jack Vardaman Workforce Development Program is made possible through the generous support of partners, including the Southern Company Foundation, Golf Now, Citi, the Heinz Family Foundation, Ashworth Golf, Puma, and other community contributors. Together, they help empower the next generation through this exceptional program.
